The Duplex Slate is one of the most unique slates ever devised. My mentor, Jim Swoger, worked on many of Ed Massey’s prototypes and this is one of Ed’s best creations. This version has an Old World appearance, unlike any other.
Produce the same writings as two-frame slates, with only one frame because the gimmick is internal. There are two panels that travel like two cards are shuffled overhand.

One message to appear
One message that changes into another message - or
Two different messages appear (one on each side) from a slate just shown blank on both sides.
The move only takes one second and performed with my handling, it’s virtually invisible. (See video)
Each one has an exquisite Old World appearance that doesn’t scream “Trick”. Some will buy this as a collectable but it’s a worker. The ghostly image left by the chalk fits the appearance in total..
